Where it fits
HBOT involves breathing oxygen in a pressurized chamber. The increased oxygen delivery provides a rationale for studying recovery support; it does not by itself establish a cosmetic benefit after a routine transplant.

Dr. Max directs the hair-restoration plan and personally performs surgical harvesting and implantation. HBOT does not replace careful surgery, standard aftercare or follow-up.
A concern about compromised tissue requires assessment of the underlying problem. Research in different wounds or skin grafts cannot establish a benefit for every hair-transplant patient.
A closer look at the evidence

Fan and colleagues reported less postoperative shedding and fewer itching/folliculitis events with HBOT. Graft survival at nine months was not significantly different between groups.
A small study—not proof that every FUE patient needs HBOT. Its schedule is not the clinic’s treatment protocol.
Broader wound-care research
A 2013 Cochrane review found insufficient high-quality evidence for acute surgical and traumatic wounds. The included studies were not trials of routine hair transplantation.
Clinic before-and-after hair photographs cannot isolate an HBOT effect. No HBOT-specific result is claimed here.
What to expect
Bring medication and supplement lists. Discuss lung or heart conditions, diabetes, ear or sinus problems, nicotine use, and any cold or congestion. Do not change prescriptions without your clinician.
Confirm approved clothing and restrictions on hair products, jewelry, electronics and other belongings. High oxygen concentrations increase fire risk.
Pressure changes may feel like an airplane ascent or descent. Tell the supervising team about ear pain, difficulty equalizing pressure or other discomfort.
Ask about pressure, session length, timing, number of visits, supervision and cost. These require an individual prescribed plan.
Safety & practical questions
No such assumption should be made. A clinician should explain why it is being considered, the expected benefit, alternatives and how recovery will be monitored. It does not replace surgical fundamentals or routine aftercare.
Discuss ear or sinus pressure injury, temporary visual changes, low blood sugar in susceptible patients and oxygen toxicity. Some lung conditions and other medical circumstances can make treatment unsuitable. Review all medical history and medications with the prescribing clinician.
The FDA emphasizes manufacturer instructions, trained staff, patient monitoring, maintenance, fire prevention and restrictions on materials brought into the chamber. The team must give device-specific preparation and safety instructions.
The number, duration, pressure and timing are individualized. A research schedule is not a personal prescription, and no standard course is advertised here.
